Tirol Raiders sign quarterback Christian Strong

Another team of the European League of Football finds his starting quarterback for the 2023 season.

With the Tirol Raiders football team finding their quarterback in Christian Strong, 12 teams have now signed their starting signal caller for the upcoming European League of Football season starting in June next year. With Strong, the Raiders get one of the top performers from the last two German Football League seasons, being honored an All-Star in both 2021 and 2022.

"Honored to have the opportunity"

Both the Raiders and Christian Strong are going into the next season optimistically: "I am honored to have the opportunity and blessing of being the next Quarterback for the Raiders in the European League of Football. I will give the entire team, organization, and fans my all each & every day through hard work, dedication, a positive attitude, and a sheer will to do whatever it takes to win!”

Canadian football player across the globe

Strong was previously active for the Seton Hill University, on the Division II level, then joining the Brisbane Rhinos in 2018, the Düsseldorf Panther in 2019 and lastly the Cologne Crocodile from 2021 until now. The Canadian quarterback is already familiar with some faces, as his former teammate Jarvis McClam is also joining the Raiders next season.

Have you seen this yet?

Raiders head coach Kevin Herron is hyped about his new addition, as he commented in a statement via the team: "It gives me great pleasure to have Chris join the team. He's going to fit in very well here. He has that so-called "chip on his shoulder" that just all Raiders carry from last season into the new one. Christian has a very high understanding of the game - that of a coach. He wants to and will work harder than anyone else. All of that coupled with the talent he possesses is a recipe for success. He's fully aware of the shoes he's stepping into and he's confident he can live up to it. I am absolutely certain that we will win many games with him as the conductor of the offense and leader of the team. Our fans have a lot to look forward to."

The 27-year-old Canadian will be the successor of last season’s MVP Sean Shelton, who joined the Munich Ravens front office after his retirement.
