Stuttgart Surge extend wide receiver Paul Steigerwald

Surge add weapon for new starting quarterback Randall Schroeder in big-bodied wide receiver!

The Stuttgart Surge re-sign German wide receiver Paul Steigerwald, as reported by the team.

“[…] I really believe that our young team has a lot of potential and that we will be very successful in the coming years”, Steigerwald commented, via the team’s press release. He added: “That’s why it was not a questioned to re-sign with the Surge to be a part of this franchise”.

The 24-year-old and 198cm tall wide receiver led the Surge with 413 receiving yards, three touchdowns, and 30 receptions in 2021. In 2022, Steigerwald is eager to show the fans what the Surge is all about: “My goal for the 2022 season is to show the fans good football and that we can compete in a our division and that we can compete in this league!”.

Surge head coach Martin Hanselmann also thinks highly of his talented receiver, according to the team’s press release: “Paul Steigerwald developed into a great player of the last season. Now, it is a great sign of quality to see one of our top-receivers in Paul [Steigerwald] return to our team”. He added: “His fans will surely support him and the team at the Stadion auf der Waldau”.

With Steigerwald, the Sure get one of their premiere wide receivers back. He will surely be a great weapon for new starting quarterback Randall Schroeder.
