Rhein Fire re-sign inside linebacker Lukas Ruoss

One of the best European internationals has re-signed his contract in the European League of Football.

The Rhein Fire have extended the contract of inside linebacker and Swiss international Lukas Ruoss. As middle linebacker, Ruoss, was responsible for 62 tackles, 34 ofthat solo, one forced fumble and three interceptions in all twelve games forthe football franchise. Ruoss is one of the best European international linebackers, making a name for himself as a versatile and quick weapon in the run defense and in pass coverage.

Rhein Fire is looking to make 2023 their year by re-signing outstanding players and signing new athletes. Before joining Rhein Fire, Ruoss was with the Potsdam Royals, Bemidji State, American River College, West Hills College and the Bern Grizzlies in his home country. As a Swiss National Team player, the 27-year-old stepped up his game last year, and is seen as a leader for the franchise that holds its gamedays in the Schauinsland-Arena in Duisburg – also the place for the Championship Game ofthe European League of Football.

Strong linebacking corps

The front seven looks rock solid. Already signed international edge rusher Alejandro Fernández, outsideline backers Flamur Simon or Martin Pinter, as well as former Centurions middle linebacker Marius Kensy will likely help the Fire get better production on defense next year, ranking 11th and 7th in rush defense.
