Raiders Tirol sign defensive back Dominique Shelton

After losing both of their planned starters, the Raiders had to react and sign another defensive back.

With Dartez Jacobs leaving and Davion Washington being injured, the Raiders Tirol were confronted with having no imports at the defensive back position. Now they signed another American defensive back to be their lockdown guy.

Dominique Shelton joins the Raiders after having a successful career at various Division II football programs. With 1,80m in height and weighing in at 84kg the young American has great measurements for his position. Shelton was excited when asked about his move to Innsbruck: “My whole life I wanted to play professional football and I am thankful that the Raiders gave me this opportunity. It means a lot to me to join the Raiders because they are a team with a long tradition and much success. I am happy to help the team with my energy.”

"He will master this task"

When asked about the addition of Shelton, head coach Kevin Herron had the following to say: “I am happy to welcome Dominique to our team. He is from a football family, which says a lot about his technical abilities and his football-IQ. He will take over Davion Washingtons’ role. He has big shoes to fill, but I am confident that he will master this task.”
