In a field often thought of as being dominated by men, the ELF is witnessing a great transformation with the increasing presence and influence of women across various roles and franchises. From strength and conditioning coaches to coordinators and directors, female personalities are reshaping the landscape of American football in Europe, challenging stereotypes and inspiring future generations.

Natalia Wisniewska: Breaking barriers with strength and expertise

Natalia Wisniewska, the strength & conditioning coach and nutritionist for the Stuttgart Surge, embodies the spirit of resilience and dedication. Her journey from a former German kickboxing champion to American football creates an amazing example of the diverse paths that women are establishing in the ELF. With joining the Stuttgart Surge in 2023, a dream of hers came true, and she was able to take an exciting step in her professional career. Through her unwavering determination, Natalia proves that passion and expertise know no bounds, inspiring athletes and colleagues alike with her commitment to excellence.

Marianne Pahkala: The first one in ELF history

As the special teams coordinator and strength and conditioning coach for the Vienna Vikings, Marianne Pahkala stands as a pioneer in her field. With a background rooted in rugby and track & field, Marianne's progression to coaching in American football underscores the limitless potential of women in this sport. She states that it took 15 years to work her way up and be at that point in her career where she is right now. With multiple outstanding achievements like NFL internships, as well as multiple coaching experiences at D1 colleges. Eventually, through building her great network over the years, she ended up being referred to Vienna Vikings Head Coach Chris Calaycay, becoming the first-ever female coordinator in the ELF. Setting a significant milestone for other women in the field.

Jessi Westering: A legacy of leadership

For Jessi Westering, football is more than a game — it's a legacy passed down through generations. Jessi Westering, the Director of Football Operations for the Paris Musketeers, carries on a proud tradition of football excellence. With a personal background in basketball and a family lineage established in football coaching, Jessi's transition into her new role was a natural progression. As she navigates the complexities of football operations and creating a great French ELF-community, Jessi embodies the strength and toughness of women in leadership roles.

Together, Natalia Wisniewska, Marianne Pahkala, and Jessi Westering represent a new era of female empowerment in the European League of Football.
