The reigning European League of Football champions start off the week by re-signing a key defensive player for the 2022 season!

The Frankfurt Galaxy re-sign Swedish linebacker and anchor of their 2021 defense Sebastian Gauthier to their roster for the 2022 season, as reported by the franchise.

“I’m excited to announce my re-signing with the Frankfurt Galaxy”, the America-Born defender explained. He added: “After some good conversations with Coach K [head coach Thomas Kösling] there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to stay here and keep building off of what we started in the inaugural season. I’m excited to see the purple family and all it’s fans once again at PSD Bank Arena for the 2022 season”.

Gauthier led the Galaxy defense with 84 total tackles over the course of the 2021 season in the inaugural season of the European League of Football. He also recorded 18 tackles for loss, six sacks, three interceptions and forced one fumble over the course of twelve games.

Frankfurt Galaxy head coach Thomas Kösling is thrilled to have Gauthier back in his defensive lineup: “Sebastian Gauthier is the Swiss army knife of our defense: blitz, man coverage, run support. He is a complete player, and we are happy to have him back again”.

The Galaxy tackle leader of 2021 has a clear mindset for second season in the European League of Football: “The champs are back for more!”.
