The Stuttgart Surge are the 2025 Champions of the European League of Football. In front of their home crowd at the MHP Arena, the Surge defeated the Vienna Vikings 24:17 to secure the biggest win in franchise history.
A tight battle
The final was everything fans could hope for - intense, physical, and close until the very end. Both defenses played a key role, forcing stops in the red zone and limiting scoring opportunities. “It was a very close game, it could have gone either way,” said Head Coach Jordan Neuman. “Both defenses did a great job in the red zone, both teams had their big plays - we just had one more at the end.”

A special season
For Neuman, the victory was about much more than just one game. Playing the Championship in Stuttgart, in front of their own fans, gave the season a special meaning. “It was a very special season for us, not only because of this stadium and these fans. But we managed to stay focused on what mattered most: our sport, our goals,” he explained.
Dream achieved
The win marks the completion of a remarkable journey for the Surge. After losing the final in 2023 and falling short in the semifinals in 2024, Stuttgart finally lifted the trophy. “Today we fulfilled our dream,” said Neuman, as the team celebrated with fans, friends, and family in their home city.
