Vikings sign US quarterback Shelton Eppler

The Vikings have found a replacement for quarterback Ben Holmes, after placing him on Injured Reserve last week. While still winning the game against the Panthers with quarterback Alex Reischl and Christoph Gross, help was needed. Shelton Eppler has now taken over the position under center for the Vikings. Having been with the Northwestern State University of Louisiana and being the League MVP in 2022 in the LFA (Mexico), Eppler is looking at a loaded Vienna roster.

After going undrafted in the 2020 NFL draft, Eppler began his professional career in Denmark, taking the Aalborg 89ers to the National Ligaen playoff semifinals in 2021, before signing with the Fundidores de Monterrey in Mexico. Next up for the Vienna Vikings is the home game on Saturday against the Berlin Thunder.

"First and foremost I'm very grateful for the opportunity to join a great organization with even better people in the beautiful city of Vienna. The city, team, and everyone has made me and my family very welcomed and I couldn't ask for anything else. The culture here is admirable and I'm excited to get to work!", says Eppler.
