Veteran to young talent – These are the quarterbacks of 2025
The European League of Football is ready for the 2025 season with 16 teams from nine countries. Each team has an American quarterback leading the offense. Here’s an overview of the quarterbacks in 2025:
A veteran in the ELF, Sullivan is staying with Berlin Thunder despite many offseason changes. He won the ELF Championship in 2021 with Frankfurt Galaxy and hopes to lead Berlin to playoff success. Sullivan is known for his precise passing, quick decision-making, and leadership on the field. If Thunder’s offense can step up, he might have another deep playoff run in him.
Leon brings seven years of college experience, including time at NC State, UConn, and Miami. Although he didn’t see much playing time in college due to injuries and team circumstances, his skill set was impressive enough to earn an invite to the Miami Dolphins' rookie minicamp. He has strong potential, and Hamburg has surrounded him with talented receivers, particularly Terryon Robinson. If Leon can stay healthy and adapt to the ELF, he could be a breakout star.
Clark has already won two ELF championships and was MVP in both games. Now, he joins Nordic Storm, where he reunites with Coach John Shoop, who worked with him at Rhein Fire. Clark’s experience, deep-ball accuracy, and ability to perform in clutch moments make him a valuable addition to the Storm. With a well-structured team around him, Nordic Storm could become an instant contender.
Jeffries replaces Jadrian Clark at Rhein Fire, stepping into the shoes of a back-to-back champion. The former Munich Ravens QB has consistently demonstrated his ability to lead an offense effectively. He has a strong arm and is also a dangerous runner, capable of extending plays and making defenses pay with his mobility. With Rhein Fire’s strong offensive line protecting him, Jeffries has a chance to shine and keep Fire at the top of the ELF.
Moussa played college football for Florida A&M, where he threw for over 2,400 yards in consecutive seasons. He is a strong passer with good decision-making and an ability to stay calm under pressure. His experience from multiple college programs has given him adaptability, which will be crucial in adjusting to the ELF. If he builds chemistry with his receivers, Cologne could become a playoff contender.
McKay returns for his second season with Frankfurt. He impressed after joining mid-season, showing off his accurate passing and ability to read defenses well. Now, with a full offseason to prepare and work with the new coaching staff, McKay has a great opportunity to lead the Galaxy back to their former glory. His dual-threat ability makes him a dangerous weapon in both the passing and running game.
Henderson dominated in the German Football League, creating 91 touchdowns with just six turnovers—an incredible stat line. He led the Potsdam Royals to a championship and now looks to bring his success to Paris. His arm strength, accuracy, and leadership make him a top-tier QB in the ELF. If he can replicate his GFL performance, the Musketeers could become a serious championship contender.
Hennessey continues with Stuttgart Surge, looking to finally take the team to an ELF Championship. After two strong seasons, Surge is keeping faith in his abilities. His quick release, smart decision-making, and ability to make plays under pressure make him one of the most reliable QBs in the league. With the championship game being played in Stuttgart this year, the motivation for Hennessey and his team is higher than ever.
Weed, a dual-threat QB, moves from Cologne to Switzerland. His ability to make plays both in the air and on the ground makes him a dangerous weapon. With ex-NFL receiver Keelan Cole as a top target, he has the tools to elevate the Mercenaries' offense. If the improved offensive line gives him enough time, Weed could turn Helvetic into a surprise contender.
Sinnett brings NFL experience to Madrid. Having spent time with five different NFL teams, he has faced top-level competition. His size, arm strength, and football IQ make him a valuable asset for the Bravos. With Madrid coming off a strong debut season, Sinnett’s leadership could push them even further in 2025.
The Ravens trust in young QB Russel Tabor, who signed a contract until 2027. He shined in Spain last season, leading the LNFA in passing yards and touchdowns while winning a championship. Now, he gets his chance in the ELF. At just 22 years old, he is one of the youngest QBs in the league but has shown maturity beyond his years. If he develops quickly, he could be a long-term star for Munich.
Miller returns to the ELF after a season in the German Football League with the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, where he threw for 2,014 yards and 28 touchdowns. The 29-year-old has experience in multiple European leagues and previously played for the Leipzig Kings and Barcelona Dragons in the ELF. With his deep-ball ability and leadership, he looks to guide the Raiders back to playoff contention.
Domann comes from a football family and played college football at Louisville. He is a strong pocket passer but also has the athleticism to extend plays. After a solid season in the German Football League, he now leads the Enthroners, hoping to improve their 2-10 record from last season. If Domann can bring stability, Fehervar could be more competitive this year.
Smith played for the Hamburg Sea Devils last season and showed flashes of talent. Before that, he excelled in the GFL with the Allgäu Comets, throwing for 44 touchdowns in 12 games. Now, he looks to bring stability to Prague’s offense. His mobility and strong arm make him a dangerous playmaker, but he will need to improve his accuracy to thrive in the ELF.
Holmes led the Vikings to an undefeated regular season last year. After losing in the ELF final, he is determined to take Vienna to the championship in 2025. His experience, leadership, and efficient playing style make him one of the most dependable QBs in the league. With a strong supporting cast, Holmes and the Vikings will be among the top contenders again.
Irons is a dual-threat QB from the University of Akron. He brings strong athleticism and is known for making plays with both his arm and legs. His ability to escape pressure and create opportunities makes him an exciting player to watch. Wroclaw struggled with quarterback stability last season, but Irons could be the answer to their problems.
With so much talent in the league, the 2025 ELF season promises to be exciting! Fans can expect thrilling matchups and standout performances from these quarterbacks as they compete for the championship.
