Unique nationalities of the 2024 ELF season

While every European League of Football Team already had four Americans on the roster and several Europeans from outside their homegrown base, there were many teams that decided to reach even further, scouring the planet for talent and bringing in players from outside the US and Europe to make a difference on their teams.

Let’s take a look at some of the 2024 ELF players from outside of the US and Europe.

South and Central America

13 players from South and Central america suited up in the European League for Football this season. The Milano Seamen are a great example of finding these hidden talents by signing five Brazilian players.

Paris also signed veteran Brazilian offensive lineman Sacramento Pollys, while Wroclaw, Madrid and Barcelona also showcased several players from South America throughout the season.

Oceania offers ELF more than kickers

The NFL has seen an influx of Australian punters and kickers over the past few years. However in the ELF we’ve seen players from down under effect the game on more plays than fourth down. From Oceania five players made their mark on the ELF this season with the Munich Ravens signing two of the three Kiwi’s in the league this year.

Etuale Lui: New Zealand - Munich Ravens
Tyler Vaimaona: New Zealand - Munich Ravens
Zaire Ugapo: New Zealand - Hamburg Sea Devils
Jack Loew: Australia - Paris Musketeers
Samuel Higgs: Australia - Barcelona Dragons

African talent making a impact

African players have also had an impact this season in the ELF, as at least four players with African citizenship suited up in the ELF this year from Cameroon and Nigeria.

Austin Igba Ujene: Nigeria - Hamburg Sea Devils
Isaac Ajanah: Nigeria - Enthroners
Sam Orji: Nigeria - Enthroners
Daryl Kamga Amia: Cameroon - Hamburg Sea Devils/ Helvetic Mercenaries

It will be interesting to see what new nationalities join the ELF in 2025. Previously the ELF has even had players from Japan such as Yoshihito Omi of the Leipzig Kings, and Chinese receiver Shida Wang who played for the Cologne Centurions.
