Top 100 Players of 2023, No. 6: Kyle Kitchens

The Top 100 Players of 2023 will be reveiled more and more every two days in the month of November. We will be releasing the Top 100 graded players of the season 2023 according to SportsMetrics. The grades reflect the individual's performance on the field.

ELF all-time great

ELF all-time great Kyle Kitchens is coming in at number six of this list. The Berlin Thunder defensive end proved once again that he is the best defensive lineman and arguably the greatest overall defender in league history.

Kitchens took the ELF by storm in his first season, when he led the league with 12.5 sacks and 20.5 tackles for loss along with three forced fumbles, winning the Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2021.

After joining the Thunder in 2022, Kitchens took it a step further, setting single-season records with 16 sacks and 33,5 tackles for loss, which still stand to this day. Additionally, the star pass rusher racked up 58 tackles, forced four fumbles, recovered a fumble for a TD, broke up four passes and intercepted one, leading to his second DPOY title in a row.

Another great 2023 season

Expectations for the 27-year-old were sky-high for 2023 – and he once again delivered. Despite maybe playing the “worst” season of his ELF career, Kitchens still recorded 32 tackles, 15 sacks, 21 tackles for loss and two fumble recovery touchdowns, making him the best pass rusher in the league, a First-Team All-Star and a nominee for the Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Despite missing out on the award, the all-time sack and TFL leader played another dominant season, gained the third First-Team All-Star selection of his career, and comes in at number six on this list.
