The Hamburg Sea Devils re-sign homegrown RB Joshua Jacob

Jacob, who has family ties to Croatia was part of Hamburg’s historic international game last year in Šibenik, he spoke last season on what it meant to play in front of his family abroad

"It obviously means a lot to me and my family that they have the opportunity to share my enthusiasm for the first time," he explains.

“It's really cool to see how the league continues to grow and how we can help make American football better known in other countries. The sport is finally getting the attention it deserves, and the fanbase can also grow outside the States." - Jacob

Last season Jacob wasn’t a huge part of the rotation, but he has good experience playing for the Surge, Kings, and Potsdam Royals of the German Football League.

Head coach Shuan Fatah added: “Joshua is an athlete who not only impresses with his performance on the field, but also with his attitude and fighting spirit. Coming back after a difficult season and taking on this challenge shows his character. With him and the other players who have already extended, we are building a team that will make Hamburg proud.”

The veteran 29-year old running back is part of several new signings made by the Hamburg Sea Devils as new head coach Shuan Fatah begins to put together his 2025 squad for next season.
