The 2024 Rhein Fire silence the doubters

The Rhein Fire made history this season becoming the first team to ever win back-to-back champions in the ELF. Led by head coach Jim Tomsula the Rhein Fire went 14-1 en-route to another championship season in Düsseldorf.

A dominant two-year stretch

Over the past two seasons the Rhein Fire have went 28-1 winning back-to-back titles. Their only loss during that stretch came week 3 of this year to the Madrid Bravos. To thier credit, the Rhein Fire bounced back after that loss to win the rest of their games. They went through a early season stretch with several key players injured but were able to ultimately find thier way and once again and win the championship.

MVP season from Glen Toonga

Glen Toonga was the most outstanding player of the 2024 ELF season breaking several league records en-route to a MVP award. The veteran brit ran for 1,576 yards and 30 touchdowns on teh season as the Rhein Fire had the league best rushing attack. Toonga's physical style of running complimented a oppurtunistic defense in Düsseldorf leading to a excellent all around team.

An epic comeback in Stuttgart

After crusing past the Bravos in the wildcoard round the Rhein FIre travlled to Stuttgart to take on the Surge in the semi-finals. The game was a back and forth affair with heavy rain falling trailing in the fourth quarter, a key interception and several cltuch plays helped the Rhein Fire knockout one of the league title contenders and punch thier ticket to the championship game.

Domination in the ELF Championship game

After going down 7-0 in the Championship game, it was basically all Rhein Fire for next three and half quarters. The Rhein Fire scored just before the half on a long pass to Kelvin Mckight Jr. The score with just seconds remaining before the break swung the momentum. The Rhein Fire defense was able to force turnovers often and quarterback Jadrian Clark threw three touchdowns. Clark was the MVP once again of the championship game as the Rhein Fire won 51-20 in front of 41k fans.
