Stuttgart Surge dominate at home

Always an answer ready! That's how it went for the Stuttgart Surge in the last home game of the season against the Wrocław Panthers. In the Wildcard round, it was especially the offense under quarterback Reilly Hennessey with four touchdowns that was almost unstoppable. With 130 yards on the ground and 386 yards through the air, in addition to a return touchdown by Mayr right after a score by Wrocław, the Panthers team had little breathing room. Even if they kept the Surge on their heels shortly after the first quarter, the absence of wide receiver Tony Tate was particularly noticeable for the Polish franchise.

Causing a stir

Quarterback Matthew Vitale, who showed a solid performance, and Dawid Brzozowski could not compensate for the loss. On Stuttgart's side, it was also wide receiver Darrell Stewart who caused a stir alongside Louis Geyer. After a 37-14 win, the Surge will now face the Vienna Vikings next Saturday in the away semifinal at Generali Arena.
