Stuttgart Surge captain Alesandro Vergani: "Ready to hunt"

The Stuttgart Surge were so close to returning the the ELF Championship game in 2024. The 2023 runner ups fell just short in overtime against the Rhein Fire in the smei-fianls in what was one of the most exciting games of the 2024 season.

Team captain Alessandro Vergani commented on what was a semi-finals epic game in Stuttgart:

“Despite the loss, the game against Rhein Fire was a hard-fought battle at the highest level, with both teams giving their all. The atmosphere at Gazi-Stadion was incredible, and the rain storm gave an even more epic energy, making the fans' support feel even more special.”

Surge nearly return to the championship game

Looking back at the 2024 season the Surge went 11-1 in the regular season earning a first round bye in the playoffs. The loss to the eventual champion Rhein Fire was only the second loss of the season.

“No matter how well you're playing or how hard you're fighting, you need to stay focused for the entire game.” - Vergani

One clear goal for 2025

Since taking over the Surge in 2023, head coach Jordan Neuman has brought many of his players from former teams, including Vergani. Neuman has taken the Surge from a winless team in 2022 and transformed them into title contenders. The Surge were 2023 runner ups and semi-finalist in 2024. Now they look ahead too 2025 with one clear goal in mind:

"We'll have most of the team back, and I know for sure that the whole pack will be ready to hunt and finish what we started in 2023.” - Vergani
