Stuttgart Surge advance to Championship Game

The European League of Football is close to its fifth Championship Game. Yesterday, the Vienna Vikings triumphed over the Nordic Storm and therefore secured the first ticket to the big game. Today, the Munich Ravens were hosting the Stuttgart Surge to battle for the last spot for the Championship Game next Sunday.

Stuttgart Surge (10-2) AT Munich Ravens (11-1)

Final Score: 27 - 13

This game had it all. Defensive highlights, incredible catches, quarterbacks who score touchdowns on the ground and much more. After a rough start for both offenses in the first half, the Stuttgart Surge managed to pile up two more scores in the second half of the game. Both quarterbacks, Reilley Hennessey and Russell Tabor, had great outings on the ground, with two rushing touchdowns for each passer. But the Surge quarterback set himself apart with his passing game. With over 60% completion percentage and 250+ passing yards, Hennessey managed to guide his team to his second Championship appearance. For the Ravens, their passing game was held to only about 100 yards through the air, one interception and no touchdowns.

Next to both quarterbacks, the Surge defense played a crucial role in their win over the Ravens in this ELF Semi-Final. With four sacks, just over 100 passing yards allowed and only four out of eleven possible third-down conversions allowed, the Surge defensive unit played their part on their road to the Championship Game. Leading the way was German cornerback Ben Wenzler with three pass breakups, four total tackles and on interception.

Munich Ravens 2025 - A season to remember

Despite their loss against the Stuttgart Surge in the ELF Semi-Final today, the Munich Ravens accomplished something their franchise never accomplished before. In twelve regular season games, the Bavarian franchise won eleven regular season games in one season for the first time in franchise history. The 2025 season surrounding quarterback Russell Tabor, running back Justin Rodney, wide Receiver Malik Stanley, defensive back Cole Coleman and many other stars will go down in the history books. If the Ravens can keep their team core together, their success will not be over anytime soon.
