The Stuttgart Surge have reached the top of European football. In front of 36,784 fans at the MHP Arena, the team lifted the ELF Trophy for the first time in franchise history with a 24:17 win over the Vienna Vikings. After years of building and two painful playoff exits, Stuttgart completed their mission and turned their dream into reality.

A historic moment for Stuttgart

The Championship Game was more than just a final - it was the highlight of a long journey. For the Surge, it was a third attempt after losing the 2023 Championship and the 2024 semifinal. This time, everything came together in front of their home crowd.

Head Coach Jordan Neuman summed it up with pride: "I am incredibly proud of my team and everyone who puts their heart into this franchise. We worked extremely hard to be ready for this moment. And when the time came, we were fully prepared."

Respect for the opponents

The Vienna Vikings, making their third Championship Game appearance since joining the ELF in 2022, once again proved why they are one of Europe’s most respected franchises. Despite a strong performance, they had to accept another final defeat after losing to Rhein Fire last season.

Neuman praised his opponents: "Respect to the Vienna Vikings for a great season. But I think the trophy belongs in Stuttgart this year."

The final also underlined the growing importance of the ELF in Europe. League CEO Zeljko Karajica highlighted the meaning of the event: "Congratulations to Stuttgart Surge. They had an outstanding year and deserved to win the ELF Trophy. Congratulations also to the Vienna Vikings for a great season. This was the fitting finale of an exciting series, once again proving the importance of this sport in Europe."

The perfect ending

For Stuttgart, the victory was more than a title. It was the culmination of a transformation - from struggling in their first years to becoming champions of Europe in 2025. The players, coaches, and fans celebrated together as a new chapter in the ELF history was written: Stuttgart Surge, European Champions.
