The Nordic Storm continue to shape their roster for the upcoming season. With the re-signing of defensive back Hjalmar Nielsen, the Danish-Swedish franchise strengthens its defense once again. After already securing Phillip Holm and Luke Glenna for the secondary, Nielsen becomes the third addition to the Storm’s defensive backfield.

A familiar face returns to the Storm secondary

Nielsen has been part of the European League of Football since 2024. He first took the field for the Fehérvár Enthroners before joining the Nordic Storm for the 2025 season, where he contributed to their strong defensive performances.

Solid experience and playoff action

Across his ELF career, Nielsen has appeared in 14 games, collecting 17 total tackles. He also saw action in the postseason, adding 3 tackles in the Storm’s two playoff matchups. His reliability and experience make him a valuable rotational piece in the secondary.

Strengthening the secondary for 2026

With Nielsen returning, the Nordic Storm add further stability and depth to their defensive backfield. As the franchise prepares for its second season, Nielsen’s familiarity with the system and his playoff experience will help the Storm continue building a competitive and well-balanced defensive unit in 2026.
