Starter, backup, newcomer - more additions for the Prague Lions
The Prague Lions are continuing to work on their squad for the upcoming season. Therefore, the Czech team has managed to acquire the services of three more players.
Firstly, offensive lineman Oliver Ďurč has extended his contract by one season. The 29-year-old Slovakian joined the Lions in 2024 and quickly earned himself a starting role. He previously played two years for the Bratislava Monarchs.
"Grateful for another opportunity to play the game I love!", says Ďurč. He adds: Re-signing with the Prague Lions means continuing a journey of passion, commitment, and chasing a dream. Excited to work with our new coaches and teammates, bringing fresh energy to the team." The experienced player does not see his team as being without a chance in the upcoming season: "Underdogs? Maybe, but true strength is proving what's possible when the odds are against you."
Fans will also see defensive back Antonin Kvapil again. He also wore the Lions jersey last season. However, the cornerback was more of a backup player. Before his time with the Lions, he played a year for the Prague Black Panthers.
Meanwhile, Jonas Hlava is a new member of the team. The defensive lineman has also signed a one-year contract. The Czech also previously played for the Prague Black Panthers.
