Saturday Recap: Raiders crush Dragons, Vikings win big play festival

Raiders Tirol crush Dragons

The Raiders Tirol set the tone early in the game with quarterback N'Kosi Perry leading the offense efficiently through a combination of passing and running plays. Their first drive culminated in a touchdown run by Tobias Bonatti. Maintaining control, the Raiders added a field goal later in the first half. Despite the efforts of the Barcelona Dragons, their offense struggled, heavily relying on quarterback Levi Lewis, who threw the ball 23 times in the first half alone. At halftime, the Raiders were up 10-0.

In the second half, the Raiders extended their lead with Bonatti scoring another touchdown on a 37-yard run, highlighting their effective rushing attack. As the rain intensified, the Dragons found it increasingly difficult to execute positive plays, relying solely on Lewis's arm. Meanwhile, the Raiders continued their dominant performance, allowing Bonatti to score his third touchdown of the day. By the end of the game, the Raiders had accumulated over 300 rushing yards, showcasing their superiority on the field.

The game concluded with a commanding 32-0 victory for the Raiders Tirol, boosting their confidence as they prepare for the upcoming "Battle of Austria" against their rivals, the unbeaten Vienna Vikings. With this win, the Raiders improve to a record of 5-1. For the Dragons, this defeat exposes their offensive struggles, leaving them near the bottom of their conference with a 2-4 record.

Vienna Vikings triumph over Wroclaw Panthers in thrilling showdown

The Vienna Vikings faced a tough challenge at home against the Wroclaw Panthers. Quarterback Ben Holmes struggled initially, throwing an early interception due to his lack of rhythm. Despite the Panthers' defense exploiting Holmes' lack of rhythm and applying significant pressure to disrupt the Vikings' offense, the Vikings' defense held strong, keeping them in the game.

Holmes gradually found his rhythm, orchestrating scoring drives highlighted by touchdowns to Noah Toure and Kimi Linnainmaa. The Panthers responded with a kickoff return touchdown by Devan Burrell and a passing touchdown from John Uribe to Gennadiy Adams, keeping the game competitive.

A pivotal moment came when the Panthers failed on a crucial fourth-down attempt, allowing Holmes to capitalize with another touchdown pass before halftime. In the second half, Holmes continued to lead the Vikings' offense effectively, connecting with Toure for another touchdown.

The Panthers fought back with a touchdown pass from Uribe to Adria Botella Moreno, but the Vikings' defense held firm to secure a 35-27 victory. With this win, the Vienna Vikings remain undefeated at 6-0, while the Panthers fall to 2-4, facing challenges in their playoff aspirations.
