Rhein Fire announced that they will play their home games at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena in Duisburg this upcoming season.

In their press release, the German franchise announced that the MERKUR-SPIEL-ARENA in Düsseldorf would have been the preferred location. However, numerous concerts and other events that were rescheduled because of the COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible for Rhein Fire to block the necessary dates for their home games this year.

“It was not easy to make the decision to play our home games outside of Düsseldorf in our first year. At the end, it would not have been possible to give our fans the game-day experience we would have liked to offer”, Rhein Fire co-owner Martin Wagner commented on the decision to play in Duisburg this season, according to team’s press release. He added: “We will get together with the Sportstadt Düsseldorf in the near future to discuss possible solutions for next year. We are happy that we have secured such a great stadium with the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena as our homefield for the 2022 season!”.

The Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena is equipped with about 20.000 seats and gives the opportunity to have a great view on the field from every angle. It will be possible to host the Fire Power Party in front of the stadium with a variety of food trucks, a stage, and other attractions, as mentioned in the Rhein Fire press release.
