The upcoming game between Rhein Fire and the Hamburg Sea Devils, originally scheduled to take place at Volksparkstadion on July 20th, has been relocated to Stadion Hoheluft. The reason for the short-notice change is the condition of the field, which currently does not meet the necessary standards for a safe football game.

Heavy rainfall in recent weeks, along with various events such as concerts by Ed Sheeran, have significantly affected the quality on the field at Volksparkstadion. According to experts, this poses an increased risk of injury for players during the game between Rhein Fire and the Hamburg Sea Devils. Since the European League of Football places the highest priority on player safety, the game has been relocated to Stadion Hoheluft – the usual home venue of the Hamburg Sea Devils.

Hamburg Sea Devils General Manager Mark Weitz said: "Of course, we would have loved to play this special matchup at Volksparkstadion – anticipation was high. At the same time, it was clear to us that the safety and quality of the playing surface must come first."

The kickoff time remains unchanged at 16:25 CET. The Hamburg Sea Devils will give all customers the option to either cancel or keep their tickets. All previously purchased tickets remain valid.
