Reunion in the ELF! Rhein Fire signs talented DB duo

Rhein Fire are continuing to work on their squad for the upcoming season in the European League of Football. The current champions are now focusing on their secondary. 

As a result, two young and talented defensive backs have signed in Düsseldorf. A city that Elias Jassey and Dereck Ejike Onyia have already had a connection in the past. After all, both became German Football League Youth Champions 2022 with the Düsseldorf Panthers. 

Different ways - reunion in the ELF

After the glorious victory, the Homegrowns parted ways. Onyia, who is also part of the German national team, transferred to the Langenfeld Longhorns. Last season, he moved to the Nuremberg Rams. The 21-year-old proved his ability in the GFL 2 and became a cornerstone of the team.

Jassey, on the other hand, went to the Krefeld Ravens in 2022, where he quickly became one of the absolute top performers. Jassey impressed so much that he was invited to a college camp in the US in the summer of 2023. He was supposed to audition for seven Division 1 colleges. Unfortunately, he was injured during preparations. 

Now a new chapter in the European League of Football. Here, the young defender not only meets experienced champions, but also his old teammate Dereck Ejike Onyia.
