Raiders Tirol sign new head coach Jim Herrmann

The Raiders Tirol have found their new head coach. Jim Herrmann, former Michigan Wolverine and NFL assistant coach, will lead the 2022 playoff participant into the 2024 season. The 62-year-old won the Super Bowl in 2012 as the linebackers coach of the New York Giants and is now trying to get another ring in the biggest European competition. Herrmann will likely also be leading the defense.

A lot of experience

Born in California, Herrmann played defensive end for the Michigan Wolverines, while transferring his knowledge into the coaching staff of the University, eventually winning the Broyles Award for the best Assistant College Football Coach in 1997 and a national title that year. He made the step into the NFL in 2006, coaching under Eric Mangini for the New York Jets, Tom Coughlin for the New York Giants and Chuck Pagano for the Indianapolis Colts from 2016 to 2017. In the last years, Herrmann was the Defensive Coordinator for the New York Guardians and San Antonio Brahmas in the XFL, also leading the Lazio Ducks in Rome from 2021 to 2022.
