Raiders release quarterback Christian Strong – Jarvis McClam leaves on his own

A big bang interrupted the Raiders’ win celebration on Sunday. The Raiders Tirol announced the release of quarterback Christian Strong after going 6-2 in the first eight games. Due to his loyalty, wide receiver Jarvis McClam, one of the league’s best scorers, decided to leave the franchise on his own.

Ulz Däuber, General Manager-Football, commented: "We regret Jarvis wish to leave the club, as we would have liked to see him further in the jersey of the Raiders Tirol. We thank both players for their commitment and their time with the Raiders Tirol and wish them much success for their future."

Who comes in for Strong and McClam?

For the Raiders, the decision to part ways with Strong was likely based on his performance. The rumor was that the Raiders were not happy with Strong going forward, maybe even going into the playoffs. In his first year with the team and in the system, Strong had a completion percentage of 64.69 percent, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions in eight games, with McClam having eight receiving touchdowns. In yards, the Canadian signal caller was top-3 in production.

Due to the fact that the Raiders face two Bye-Weeks in a row, the Raiders decided to make a change at the most important position in football just in time to make possible adjustments before week 10. Now it is to see which way the Raiders under head coach Kevin Herron will go.
