Prague Lions Žouželka: "The turnaround has been crazy"
Alex Malchow

The Prague Lions turn around has been one of the most interesting part of a facinating ELF season so far. The team has went from two wins in two seasons and living at the bottom of the standings to a 4-4 record and a chance at the playoffs.
One player who has been with the Lions through the good times and bad is running back Adam Žouželka. The veteran Czech homegrown spoke on what this year has been like:
"The turnaround has been crazy. This year we are really a team that cares about each other. We support and battle for each other. Our team culture is very strong. We are friends and I am happy and pround to be part of this in my home of the Czech Republic."
The homegrown talent was a star for the Lions before they joined the ELF in 2023, helping them win the Czech Bowl. Now the 23-year old is having a phenomenal season this year rushing for 575 yards and 5 touchdowns, propelling the Lions to heights they have never been to before. Žouželka credits his teammates and coaches for his success:
"We have a great coaching staff Dave Warner is a football genius thinking about everything. As well as running back coach Reginald MItchell and OL coach Pat Ruel who has won two Super Bowls. Our OL is playiing thier butts off and battling for me. I am really proud of them. "
New head coach Dave Warner, new ownership, and a reestablished culuture has been vital in building up a Lions team that has doubled its win total over the last two seasons, in just 8 weeks of the play in 2025.
The Lions are stil lin the hunt for the playoffs at 4-4. They will need to win and get some luck in order to make thier first playoff appearance. However, this year's team has been doubted before and are looking to continue what's been a thrilling 2025 season.
"Last week's loss in Wroclaw set us back. But if we win out we are in the playoffs. Right now we just focus on the next game. We want to win our first game at home for our fans and for our families.
This Sunday, the Lions will host the Enthroners as they hope to get thier fifth win of the season and keep thier playoff hopes alive.
