Prague Lions sign veteran QB David Perkins

The Prague Lions have made a change at the quarterback position bringing in veteran quarterback David Perkins. The experienced passer brings with him a strong resume of pro football experience from Mexico. With the addition of Perkins, the Lions have released Kare Lyles who started five games for them this season.

A veteran returns to Europe

Perkins, 27, played in Germany in 2018 for the Berlin Adler in the German Football League suiting up in six games in the German capital. Since then, Perkins has been playing Indoor football in the United States as well as playing the past three seasons in Mexico's Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional.

This past season, Perkins rejoined the Jefes de Ciudad Juárez throwing for seven touchdowns and 1,347 yards, while adding 270 yards and another score on the ground. Perkins helped the Jefes make history qualifying for their first ever post season appearance this May.

Perkins also played the 2023 and 2022 season in Mexico earning the league's MVP of the week once in 2023. He also adds experience having played for Amarillo Venom in the American Indoor football League in 2021. Prior to playing in Mexico and Berlin, the New York native played at Merrimack College (NCAA DII).

Perkins is set to make his ELF debut with the Lions this Sunday July 7th at 16:25 CET as the Prague Lions host the Wroclaw Panthers.
