Playoff scenarios – who could clinch a playoff spot next?

With two weeks left in the 2025 European League of Football regular season, three teams have already clinched a spot in the playoffs.

The newcomer Nordic Storm (9-1) were the first to secure their postseason berth after winning their first nine games and dominating the North Division. Just before the league-wide bye Week, the Vienna Vikings (9-1) and the Munich Ravens (9-1) followed suit. On Saturday, the Vikings claimed the East Division title with a commanding win over the Fehérvár Enthroners. One day later, the Munich Ravens joined them, clinching the highly competitive South Division with a win against the Wroclaw Panthers – even if they had to fight harder for it.

With three of the six available playoff spots already clinched, two more teams could book their ticket to the postseason this weekend.

Stuttgart set to claim West Division

The West Division remains undecided, with Stuttgart Surge currently holding an 8-2 record and the Paris Musketeers following at 6-4.

In theory, Paris could still catch up if they win both of their remaining games and Stuttgart lose twice. However, that scenario appears unlikely given Stuttgart's remaining schedule. On Saturday, they face the still winless Cologne Centurions, followed by a matchup against the also winless Fehérvár Enthroners in Game Week 14.

A win this weekend would guarantee Stuttgart the West Division title and a playoff spot. If Paris lose their game on Saturday against the Helvetic Mercenaries, Stuttgart will claim the division even without a victory of their own.

Madrid Bravos rely on some help

The second team that could theoretically secure a playoff ticket this weekend are the Madrid Bravos, competing in the South Division with a current 7-3 record. To lock in a playoff spot this weekend, Madrid not only needs a win against the competitive Munich Ravens but also requires help from three other teams of the league: the Prague Lions, Paris Musketeers, and Rhein Fire.

If these three teams lose their games next weekend while Madrid wins, the Bravos would also be guaranteed a place in the playoffs. While Prague, Paris, and Rhein Fire all still have playoff chances, they will be fighting hard for victories of their own. The race for the playoffs this season is closer than ever before and it remains highly competitive.
