Panthers Wrocław make quarterback change

The Panthers Wrocław are bringing back a familiar face to Poland. From now on, Quarterback Matthew Vitale will command the offense. To make room for the veteran, the Panthers released quarterback John Uribe.

Vitale will be third quarterback throwing the ball around for the Panthers this season, both Steven Duncan (week 1-3) and Uribe (week 4-6) played three games, before being let go. Vitale played for the Panthers in the 2023 season, completing 131 of his 218 throws for 1773 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Before going abroad, Vitale was a walk-on quarterback for the University of West Virginia, Temple University and Jackson State University. In 2017, he played for the Diablo Valley Community College in California, starting 11 games and being named Team Captain.

In High School, Vitale thrived. He was a three-year starting quarterback, finishing his career with 4,413 yards and 48 touchdowns with only 14 interceptions. The Italo-American also played for the Wrocław Jaguars in the second division of Polish football.
