Next big stage for the European League of Football: Sea Devils to play a home game at the wohninvest WESERSTADION in Bremen in the 2024 season
The European League of Football conquers another big stage! The Sea Devils will compete in the 2024 season of the "Champions League" of European football in Bremen's 42,100-seater wohninvest WESERSTADION. The game will be played in close cooperation between the ELF, the Sea Devils, Bremer Weser-Stadion GmbH and the City of Bremen.
"We are incredibly proud to have another strong partner at our side to help the league grow. When the European League of Football was founded for the 2021 season, we clearly stated our ambition to bring our games to the biggest and most beautiful stadiums. With the Sea Devils' appearance in Bremen, we are offering football fans another highlight," says Zeljko Karajica, Managing Director of the ELF.
"Hamburg may be the gateway to the world, but that's not a one-way street. We want to bring our sport and our league to places that are not lucky enough to have top-level teams regularly on their doorstep. I'm really looking forward to the Sea Devils game with a great atmosphere in Bremen's Weserstadion," emphasizes ELF commissioner Patrick Esume.
"The wohninvest WESERSTADION is one of the most traditional stadiums in Germany and it is always our aim to further develop the offering. We want to create emotional highlights and use the stadium to make people happy. I am delighted that we are able to present this highlight to football fans together with the European League of Football and the Sea Devils," said Hans-Jörg Otto, Managing Director of Bremer Weser-Stadion GmbH (BWS).
"Bremen is a city of sport! Whether it's Bundesliga soccer, world-class formation dancing or the final stage of the Deutschland Tour - the Hanseatic city always shines with exciting major sporting events. That's why I'm particularly pleased about the Sea Devils' visit to Bremen. American football games are huge, colorful and peaceful events with entertainment for the whole family. The game will not only delight Bremen's sports enthusiasts, but will also attract lots of visitors from outside the city," says Oliver Rau, Managing Director of WFB Wirtschaftsförderung GmbH, responsible for Marketing & Tourism in Bremen.
