The NFL Germany Game will take place in Week 10 on Sunday, November 15 (kickoff at 3:30 p.m. CEST)
The game is the sixth regular-season NFL game to be held in Germany to date

The National Football League (NFL) has announced that the New England Patriots will face the Detroit Lions in the 2026 NFL Germany Game in Munich. The game will take place on Sunday, November 15 (Week 10), at FC Bayern Munich’s stadium. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. German time.

The game in Munich is the sixth regular-season NFL game to be held in Germany since 2022. As part of a multi-year agreement, the 2028 NFL Germany Game will also take place in Munich in addition to this year’s game.

"Germany is a key market"

"The NFL is very pleased to welcome the New England Patriots and the Detroit Lions to Munich in November for a high-caliber game, in collaboration with FC Bayern Munich and the City of Munich", said Alexander Steinforth, General Manager of NFL DACH.

"Germany is a key market for the league’s global growth ambitions - with nearly 20 million fans, Germany has the largest fan base in Europe. The Patriots have a strong fan base in Germany and will face the Detroit Lions, a team that is bringing one of the best German players, Amon-Ra St. Brown, to Germany. We look forward to offering NFL fans from Germany and around the world an unforgettable NFL experience."

"Strong signal for Munich as a cosmopolitan sports city"

Dominik Krause, Mayor of the City of Munich: "Munich is very much looking forward to hosting the NFL once again. Following the historic first regular-season NFL game in Germany in 2022 and the second game in 2024, the third NFL game in our city demonstrates: Munich is an excellent venue for international sporting events and inspires fans far beyond the city limits. I would like to extend a warm welcome to the Detroit Lions and the New England Patriots. We look forward to a great football celebration with many visitors, a fantastic atmosphere, and a strong signal for Munich as a cosmopolitan sports city."

Rouven Kasper, FC Bayern’s Executive Director of Marketing & Sales: "Ever since the entire stadium sang ‘Country Roads’ together during the first NFL game in Munich, American football fans from all over the world have felt at home here. On days like these, the eyes of millions of people are on Munich, which has an outstanding reputation as a sports city. FC Bayern is looking forward to the rematch; we want to be excellent hosts once again and offer all visitors an extraordinary experience that they will remember long after the game is over."

Nine NFL international games 2026

The NFL game in Munich is one of nine international games to be held next season across four continents, in seven countries, and at eight stadiums. Melbourne (Australia), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), London (United Kingdom), Paris (France), Madrid (Spain), Munich (Germany), and Mexico City (Mexico) will host international games in 2026 as part of the league’s long-term commitment to global expansion.

The Detroit Lions and the New England Patriots hold marketing rights in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland under the league’s Global Markets Program - an initiative that grants NFL teams marketing rights in markets outside the U.S. to build brand awareness and a fan base through fan engagement, events, and commercial opportunities.

The NFL’s Global Markets Program grants marketing rights in Germany to eleven teams, six of which are also active in Austria and Switzerland. As part of the league’s engagement in these regions, regular-season games have been confirmed for 2028 in Munich and for 2027 and 2029 in Berlin. Frankfurt hosted two regular-season games in 2023.
