Munich Ravens announce first players for 2026 season

The Munich Ravens are already shaping their roster for the 2026 European League of Football season, announcing nine returning players - including several key homegrown talents and two American imports. After a strong 2025 campaign that ended in the semifinals, Munich is focused on building continuity and depth to compete for a championship run next year.
Quarterback duo remains in Munich
The Ravens continue to rely on young quarterback Russell Tabor, who impressed during the 2025 season and showed he can lead the offense with confidence. Backup Levin Adrom will also return for his third year with the team, giving the Ravens a familiar and stable quarterback group heading into 2026.
Rushing attack stays elite
The return of Justin Rodney, the league’s rushing leader with 1,082 yards, is a major boost for Munich’s offense. He will again be joined by Benedikt Pohler, who averaged 5.93 yards per carry and provided valuable support throughout the season. Together, they form one of the most productive backfields in the league.

Key receiving weapons return
Quarterback Tabor will continue to work with two of his most trusted targets - wide receiver Malik Stanley and tight end Philip Okonkwo. Stanley, entering his fifth ELF season, brings veteran experience after previous stints with the Wroclaw Panthers and Hamburg Sea Devils, as well as two strong years in Munich. Okonkwo, only 24, is heading into his fourth season and has become a reliable red-zone option for the Ravens.
Offensive line depth
The first confirmed offensive lineman for 2026 is Simon Hugger, who provided important depth and stability in Munich’s rotation last season. While not a full-time starter, Hugger’s presence adds valuable experience and consistency to a line that helped establish the Ravens’ strong rushing identity.

Defensive backs set the tone
In the secondary, safety Jonas Gürntke and cornerback Eric Köhncke will return. Gürntke played all 12 games in 2025, finishing with 40 tackles, one interception, and six pass deflections, while Köhncke contributed in nine games with six tackles. Their chemistry and understanding of the system will be crucial for maintaining defensive stability.
Building for another playoff run
With key offensive and defensive contributors returning, the Munich Ravens are well on their way to building another competitive roster for 2026. The early announcements show a clear plan: strengthen the core, keep the chemistry intact, and continue developing depth. More player signings are expected soon - but the Ravens’ intent is already clear: they’re aiming even higher next season.
