More than 1.000 days: Vikings' breathtaking streak
Florian Puth

The Vienna Vikings get their revenge and win a defensive game against Rhein Fire 12-7. While the current ELF champions' strong winning streak came to an end, Vikings fans can celebrate their own crazy streak.
After all, the team from the Austrian capital has not lost a regular season game in 1002 days (as of June 2, 2025). The Vikings were last defeated by the Wroclaw Panthers on September 4, 2022, with a score of 6:42.
Only two Vikings defeats in the postseason
Since then, they have finished two seasons with a record of 12-0, losing only in the postseason. While they became ELF champions in 2022, their run ended in the semifinals against Stuttgart Surge in 2023. Last season, the Vienna Vikings lost 20-51 to Rhein Fire in the Championship game.
Now they had their revenge. Rhein Fire not only lost their return to Düsseldorf after 18 years, but also their first game in 358 days.
