Monday Mailbag - We answer some of YOUR questions!

The European League of Football just finished its fourth season. It is now time to figure out what teams will move in the right direction for the fifth season in 2025! Will it be teams with previous losing records emerging as contenders? Will Rhein Fire stay dominant? Who are the best players coming into the season?

Those are questions that you may ask yourself and we are here to give you the best possible answer! If you have a question and want it to be answered in a future article, please look out on the league’s social channels every Friday.

kwd.xusr: How do you sign up to try to join the ELF?

So far, the European League of Football has no draft system or general combine like the National Football League. However, players who want to join a team in the ELF can try out for a team and participate in local tryouts and combines. For example, the Stuttgart Surge will hold their first tryout of the offseason on 27th October. 

Please follow all teams on social media and the European League of Football to not miss any opportunities for open tryouts and combines!

gymiboy94: When does free agency start?

The free agency period will start to pick up pace further towards the season! However, a lot of teams already re-signed familiar faces and signed promising new talent to their rosters for the upcoming season! Check out our weekly Signing Center where we list all player signings and coaching hires of the week. 

Just to name a few, the Helvetic Mercenaries have announced their new head coach Marcus Herford and the Hamburg Sea Devils Shuan Fatah as their new head coach for the upcoming season. On the player’s side, the Vienna Vikings extended the contract of their running back Karri Pajarinen, their wide receiver Noah Touré, and their American quarterback Ben Holmes.

e_l_i_o__: How many E-Imports will be allowed in 2025?

So far, the European League of Football has not announced any changes to the E-Import rules for the 2025 season. This means that, as of now, all teams will be allowed a maximum of six European import players on their roster. However, changes to this rule cannot be ruled out.
