Milano Seamen sign Jim Ward as head coach

The Seamen set a new course by hiring Jim Ward as head coach for the 2024 season. As the former defensive coordinator of the Helvetic Guards, in the just-completed 2023 season, Ward has a long European football resume. Having held leading coaching positions on staffs in the top Swedish, Finnish, Austrian, Hungarian, Czech, German competitions, he now enters his first head coaching job in the ELF. After Giorgio Longhi joined the project in the role of quality coach, the Seamen said to aim for a complete renewal of strategic roles on the coaching staff.

Head coach ready to lead

Jim Ward said: "I was impressed by the level of expertise of European players, coaches and managers. Working with them has truly been one of the best things in my life, both humanly and professionally. For these reasons, I am even more excited to be part of the Seamen organization, aware of the great winning history of this club. Our goal is to have Italian athletes become the core of the team, to ensure solidity for the team in the upcoming championships that await in the ELF. We want to become an exciting lineup, solid on defense and unpredictable on offense. A key will be to increase the fan base that populates the Vigorelli. It is very important to engage them, to excite them by looking forward to every game. We will do our part by fielding a team they can be proud of."
