The Fehérvár Enthroners have made a major change at quarterback heading into Week 3. With American QB Brock Domann placed on Injured Reserve, homegrown talent Máté Hegedüs will step in as the new starter.
A special moment for a local talent
Head Coach Mark Ridgley shared his thoughts on the situation: “Injuries are the hardest part of this sport. We are disappointed in the news about Brock, but when these things happen, a new opportunity arises. Máté has been working for years for this opportunity and has never been more prepared. His teammates and coaches will rally around him, and we look forward to seeing him take this next step in his career. It’s an exciting opportunity for a homegrown player to be in this position at home, in front of the fans and the country that love him dearly.”
This will be Hegedüs’ fourth start in the European League of Football, and he is eager to make the most of it: “I’m excited to win my first game as a starter, especially in front of our home crowd. We’re going to fly around, bring high energy, and make big plays on both sides of the ball. I’ve been waiting for this opportunity, and I can’t wait to deliver for my team.”
The Enthroners will host the Prague Lions in a game where all eyes will be on Hegedüs as he takes this important step in his football journey.
