Madrid Bravos running back Justus Seelig had a strong 2025 season, making an impact both as a rusher and a receiver. In nine games, he recorded 513 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground, adding 554 receiving yards and six more touchdowns through the air. Reflecting on his year in an interview with First Down Magazine, Seelig said: "I just had fun playing ball again."

Despite missing three games due to injury, he was a key figure in the Bravos' offense, helping the team succeed on the ground and through the air. "Even though I missed a good part of the season getting this award it really means a lot to me," he explained.

A league-leading offense

Seelig's flexibility allowed him to line up as a slot back while also serving as a reliable target for short passes. He complemented the league's most productive offense, led by quarterback Reid Sinnett and standout wide receiver Aron Cruickshank.

Team effort behind the numbers

Seelig emphasized that his success was built on teamwork. "I mean, honestly, the team put me in the position. Andrew Weidinger, our offensive coordinator, he understands our strengths and he uses them to the team's advantage," he explained.

He also credited his quarterback and offensive line for their support: "The O-line put me in position, and with Reid [Sinnett] – the teamwork we created – if he was in trouble, I knew where I had to be, and he knew where I would be."

Recognition for a strong season

Seelig's performance earned him the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. In his acceptance speech, he thanked everyone who played a role in the team's success: "I just want to thank everyone, everyone involved, the entire organization – it's amazing."

He also highlighted the players and staff who supported him throughout the season. "Andrew Wiedinger, such an amazing offensive coordinator. Reid [Sinnett], the best quarterback I've obviously ever played with and he's an amazing guy. The entire O-line, obviously, shout out to the O-line. And my mom, because I would not be here without my mom, 100 percent."

Seelig credits team effort for individual award

Seelig remains focused on maintaining his performance and contributing to the Bravos' offense. "It was teamwork, it was a team effort, and this award definitely goes out as part of everyone," he said, underlining the collective effort behind his individual recognition.
