After an outstanding season with Stuttgart Surge in the European League of Football, kicker Lenny Krieg has been selected for the prestigious NFL International Player Pathway Program (IPPP). As a 1st Team All-Star and a nominee for Special Teams Player of the Year, Krieg’s performances made him one of the best kickers in Europe. Now, he has the opportunity to prove himself on the biggest stage.

A dream come true

For Krieg, receiving the invitation to the IPPP was an unforgettable moment. He found out about it through a phone call, and at first, he could hardly believe it. "It was a very special moment that didn’t feel real for the first few hours," he said. After years of hard work, this chance is a reward for his dedication to the game.

Representing Germany and inspiring others

Being part of the IPPP is not just a personal achievement for Krieg — it is also a chance to represent his country and inspire other athletes. "It is an honor to represent Germany and German athletes," he said. As one of the few European kickers in the program, he hopes his journey will encourage young players to believe in themselves. "Especially for young kickers from Europe, I hope to be an inspiration — to believe in themselves and their abilities."

The training focus of a kicker

Unlike most other players in the program, Krieg does not have to participate in traditional NFL Combine drills such as the 40-yard dash or bench press. His training is completely focused on kicking. "Since I don’t have to do Combine drills, my training is much more specific," he explained. "The most important thing is to kick ‘big balls’ and repeat it every time in the exact same way." His goal is to maintain a perfect process before, during, and after each kick, making consistency his top priority.

Learning from the best

When it comes to role models, Krieg looks to his family first. "My parents and my older brother are my biggest inspirations," he said. In football, he studies all NFL kickers, observing their different styles and techniques. "Every NFL kicker has their own form and routine, and I take inspiration from all of them."

Staying focused under pressure

The competition in the IPPP is tough, and only a few players will earn a spot in the NFL. However, Krieg stays calm and trusts his abilities. "I focus on my own process and my progress, making sure I am in the best shape possible." His mindset is clear — if he performs at his best, he will create his own opportunities.

With his disciplined approach and impressive kicking ability, Lenny Krieg has a real chance to make history. As he continues his journey in the IPPP, he remains focused on his ultimate goal: securing a spot in the NFL.
