Cologne’s Marlin Klein has made NFL Draft history: The tight end was selected by the Houston Texans in the second round with the 59th overall pick - earlier than any German skill player before him.

German football player Paul Rubelt has fulfilled his NFL dream as well. He has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent after the Draft.

The other five German players in the Draft - Mark Petry, Florian Staehler, Maurice Heims, Felix Lepper, and Leo Bumentritt - were not selected, but they now have the chance to prove themselves for a NFL team through training camps.

Lepper's chances might be quite good, as the former Hamburg Sea Devils player is part of NFL's IPP program. He already got invitations for mini camps at the New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs.
