Now it is official: Kendral Ellison, former defensive coordinator and assistant head coach of the Hamburg Sea Devils, is leaving the northern German franchise and joins the Munich Ravens as a head coach and defensive coordinator. The 35-year-old US-American accompanied the Sea Devils since the inaugural season in 2021, provided the best defense in the European League of Football several times and now wants to take on a new challenge in the European League of Football.

Leaving Hamburg

"Since day one, my goal has been to put Hamburg back on the football map and help the players on their way. I am very proud of what we have built over the last three years. Thank you to the city of Hamburg, the fans, the players, the staff and everyone I've met here in a positive way.", he said in a press release of the Hamburg Sea Devils. For both the Sea Devils and Ravens, a new beginning is on the horizon.

Kendral Ellison, now head coach Munich Ravens: "Being named the new head coach of the Munich Ravens is an honor and a privilege. I am extremely grateful and blessed to have this opportunity. Over the past few years, I have worked tirelessly on my craft, learning from smart coaches and continuing to lay the groundwork while waiting for the perfect opportunity to present itself. Needless to say, the opportunity couldn't be more perfect. Bavaria is beautiful, Munich is great and has a great sports tradition, the Munich Ravens fans are phenomenal, the owners have a clear plan, and the team has shown what it is capable of in its first year. Now it's my job to bring all of that together into a Bavarian powerhouse. To leave a legacy that Bavarian football fans and players will remember and talk about for many years to come!"

Sebastian Stolz, general manager Munich Ravens: "Kendral has inspired us from the first moment with his passion, philosophy and leadership style. We firmly believe that he will not only lead the Munich Ravens to athletic success, but also create a positive, sustainable culture." The beginning of a new era in Munich?
