Helvetic Mercenaries sign veteran OL Otavio Amorim
The Helvetic Mercenaries continue to make moves early this off-season, as they have now signed their first E-import for the 2025 season. This time going with another ELF veteran in Brazilian offensive lineman Otavio Amorim.
Amorim is a massive offensive lineman at 191 cm and 155 KG. The 25-year-old played the past two seasons with the Wroclaw Panthers lining up at tackle and guard for the ELF eastern conference team. Prior to his time in Poland, the Brazilian talent also played for the Berlin Thunder in 2021.
Otavio is a product of the Brazilian American football scene, where he learned the game. He has spent many off-seasons during his ELF career, playing back in his home country for several different teams. Amorim was also part of the CFL global combine and was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the 2022 CFL global draft.
The Swiss squad now has all four of their American import players and will begin to bring back several Swiss players in the coming weeks. With the signing of the Brazilian big man we could see more momentum start to swing towards the Mercenaries this off-season.
