The Helvetic Mercenaries have strengthened their offensive line with another E-import. Sampo Leppänen signed a contract with the team from Switzerland.
The 20-year-old Finn played for the Helsinki Rooosters and Vantaan TAFT in his youth, before gaining experience in Finland's top league with the Seinäjoki Crocodiles. In 2024, he joined the Hildesheim Invaders to play in the German Football League.
Leppännen, who is known for his great hand and arm technique, has also played for the Finnish youth national team. He has now even made his debut for the men's national team.
Will the O-Line deliver Mercenaries success?
Leppänen could become an important component of the Mercenaries' offensive line. This offseason, the Swiss team has already strengthened its roster with big-name players such as former NFL veteran Keenan Cole and quarterback Isaiah Weed. Wide receiver Milan Spiller, the current ELF Rookie of the Year, also signed a new contract.
If the offensive line can buy their QB enough time, the Mercenaries' playmakers can hurt their opponents.
