Helvetic Guards re-sign defensive line duo

The Helvetic Guards are getting back two anchors of their defensive line. Homegrown stars Tim Hänni and Dominik Liechti are returning to the Swiss team for another season. 

In his first ELF season, Dominik Liechti has shown that he can bring pressure from the edge, recording 51 tackles, three sacks, and nine tackles for loss, while also blocking two kicks.

Two-time ELF All-Star Tim Hänni on the other hand, once again proved that he is one of the best defensive tackles in the game. The former Sea Devils was an irreplicable force on the interior defensive line, especially in the run game, racking up 47 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, 13.5 tackles for loss, a blocked kick, and a forced fumble.

The two national team standouts will be key pieces for the Guards’ defense in 2024 yet again, as they are trying to pick up the pace after a 3-9 debut season. How far can the Helvetic Guards go in 2024?
