Helvetic Guards hire NFL legend Norm Chow as head coach
The Swiss franchise Helvetic Guards has landed one of the greatest coaches in the U.S. with a lot of NFL experience!
Norman Yew Heen Chow will be the head coach of the Helvetic Guards in 2023, as the Guards announced. The former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator from 2005 to 2007 and college coach is considered one of the coaches who has a particularly positive impact on player development.
Among other stops, he was hired as an offensive coordinator to quarterback legend and NFL Hall of Famer Steve Young at BYU Young went on to win the Super Bowl three times in the NFL. A year later in 1984, he brought quarterback Robbie Bosco into the Heisman voting right after Steve Young's departement to the NFL.
Later, he was the N.C. State offensive coordinator, also developing athletes and another potential NFL Hall Of Fame quarterback in Philip Rivers. A year later, Chow coached the offense again at USC under current Seattle Seahawks head coach and offensive coordinator Pete Carroll.
With quarterbacks Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart, he directly developed two quarterbacks into Heisman Trophy winners during his time at USC. Chow even won the National Championship in 2004 with USC.
Norm Chow is considered a talent developer and mastermind in the U.S., but now finds his home in Switzerland where he will lead the Helvetic Guards in the European League of Football. This makes the Swiss a hot candidate for a 2023 run at the playoffs.
