Hamburg Sea Devils sign former 49ers and Wroclaw Panthers defensive back Lee Pitts

The Hamburg Sea Devils have found their fourth US import player. The 26-year-old Lee Pitts will support the two-time vice Champion as a defensive back in the upcoming season. Pitts played for the Wrocław Panthers last season, where he caught three interceptions in two games. He was also part of the San Francisco 49ers' rookie minicamp in 2022. His father Ron and grandfather Elijah were already successful NFL athletes, while Elijah Pitts won five NFL-Championships and two Super Bowls between 1961 and 1969. Pitts fractured his collarbone in week five against the Lions.

"Excited to be part"

"I'm excited to be part of a franchise with a winning culture. The Sea Devils have made it to the Championship Game in two of the last three seasons and we want to compete for the championship again. After talking with the coaching staff, I feel that their vision for the team aligns with my expectations for the upcoming season. We have experienced coaches, great players and great support in the city. I can't wait to represent the city of Hamburg and play in front of the best fans in the ELF!" explains the 90 kg and 1.80 m tall Pitts.

Connection with Coach Back

Miguel Boock, Director of Sports: "I am delighted to welcome Lee Pitts to Hamburg. Although he only made a brief appearance with the Wroclaw Panthers last season due to injury, he proved in that time what quality he brings to the table as a player. The talks with Coach Back, who already worked with Lee last season, have also been very positive.”
