Frankfurt Galaxy re-sign Kevin Kaya
Frankfurt Galaxy are sticking with Kevin Kaya. The 29-year-old Frenchman has signed a new contract until the end of next season. The fans can therefore be pleased that an important offensive player is staying.
"Kevin was one of our top priorities," reveals Sports Director Thomas Kösling. “There are few European players with his quality. He is also an absolute model professional. His signing is also an important signal to the outside world that we want to continue attacking in Frankfurt and not take any steps backwards,” he continues.
Chief Operating Officer Rick Striano adds: "Kevin is a talent. He impressed us all season, not just with his play making ability. We have a play of video that is NFL worthy of him, literally reaching out catching a ball with his fingers, being horizontally to the ground. Impressive Skills as a receiver. Runs beautiful routes. But you see it in the way he practices, the way he is very committed to developing his skill, his athleticism, he practices with joy." He continues: It is always great when you got guys that want to contribute, that bring that positive energy and mindset, that is contagious and should affect everybody around him. We want people to play with joy, we want people to be happy. I mean, we are playing a game, it's fun, and Kevin really seems to enjoy it and commits himself to it. He is just very very professional in his mindset, which is terrific.”
The wide receiver caught 50 passes for 768 yards last season - the second most of the team. He also scored six touchdowns. Together with teammate Markell Castle, Kaya formed a good receiving duo.
Kaya began his career at Tigres de Nancy in his homeland of France. He then attended the University of Montreal in Canada from 2016 to 2019. This was followed by three years in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes. He then moved to Frankfurt ahead of last season. He is now spending another year with Galaxy.
