Former NFL star Mike Wahle joins the Frankfurt Galaxy coaching staff

The transformation of the Frankfurt Galaxy continues. Following the recent move of legendary coach Thomas Kösling to the position of Sport Director, the next change in the Galaxy's coaching staff is taking place.

Mike Wahle will join the team as Technical Development Specialist. His main tasks will include the further development of the players through individual work-out plans during the season and offseason. He will also work closely with the team on group strength sessions and mental training.

"Here in Germany, I see an incredible opportunity to have a big impact on a franchise and a community that is starting to really love American football," says Mike Wahle.

"Mike is an absolute game changer for us. He gives us experience at the highest level. Every player will have the opportunity to work with him to become a better football player on and off the field," Sports Director Thomas Kösling adds.

"We are very excited to welcome Mike to our organization with his rich experience. As a Skill Development Specialist, he will bring out the best in our players and prepare them optimally for the upcoming season," explains Managing Director Eric Reutemann.

Wahles' time in the NFL

From 1998 to 2008, Wahle played as an offensive lineman in the NFL. He spent the majority of this time with the Green Bay Packers. He also played for the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks. Wahle can look back on 152 NFL games, of which he started 138. He was even selected to the Pro Bowl in 2005.

After his playing career, Wahle joined the Miami Dolphins coaching staff and became the first full-time skill development specialist in NFL history. Now a new chapter begins for him with Frankfurt Galaxy.
