ELF playoff race: Here are the updated projections

After ELF Week 11 the playoff race is heating up, with eleven teams still competing for six remaining playoff spots. We break down the current playoff probabilities for each team: 

First things first: Three teams already clinched a playoff spot. Newcomer Nordic Storm (9-1) already sealed the North Division title in Game Week 10, the Vienna Vikings (9-1) took the East Division title in Game Week 11, on Saturday with a 53-16 win against Fehérvár Enthroners. The Munich Ravens (9-1) are the third team to lock in a playoff spot. In a tough battle against the Wroclaw Panthers, they came away with the win and clinched the South Division title. 

Most likely also among the top four teams are the Stuttgart Surge. They need one more win to clinch the West Division title and will face the Cologne Centurions next. 

Currently in a playoff spot are the Madrid Bravos (7-3) at 69% and the defending champions Rhein Fire (6-4), who are finding their way back to championship form with an impressive win over Berlin Thunder, at 51%. These two teams top the crowded mid-table group, which still includes five teams with realistic playoff hopes. Close behind are the Paris Musketeers (6-4) at 33%, the Prague Lions (6-4) at 23%, and Frankfurt Galaxy (5-5) at 17%.

A bit further behind – but still alive in the playoff race – are the Wroclaw Panthers (5-5) at 3%, who still have to face the Vienna Vikings and the Munich Ravens, as well as the Raiders Tirol (5-5), who lost a crucial game against the Madrid Bravos in Game Week 11 and now have to play against Rhein Fire – a game they absolutely need to win. 

Out of playoff contention are the Berlin Thunder (3-7), the Fehérvár Enthroners (0-10), the Helvetic Mercenaries (0-10), the Hamburg Sea Devils (2-8) and the Cologne Centurions (0-10). 

The final two games of the regular season will decide who advances to the playoffs. It’s crunch time in the ELF.
