ELF Honors 2025: Two new awards added!

The European League of Football has officially expanded the ELF Honors for the 2025 season. Two new awards - "Comeback Player of the Year" and "Offensive Lineman of the Year" - have been added, bringing the total number of awards to 13.
ELF Honors recognizes the best players and coaches of the ongoing regular season in 13 different categories. It is one of the biggest events of the year, held the night before the Championship Game, on September 6.
During the playoffs, the final three nominees for each category are announced publicly. The individual winners will be revealed at the ELF Honors event. The selection process is based on votes from selected media experts, league officials, and the head coaches of all ELF teams.
This prestigious event highlights the top performers of the season, honoring their talent, hard work, and impact on the league.

Here are all 13 ELF Honors awards for 2025:
1. ACOY - Assistant Coach of the Year
This award goes to the best assistant coach of the season. The recipient has shown outstanding leadership, strategy, and support, significantly contributing to the team's success.
Eligibility: Any assistant coach who has participated in the ongoing ELF Season is eligible to win this award.
2. CPOTY - Comeback Player of the Year
This award recognizes a player who has made a strong return to the field after a significant setback. It is given to an athlete who has shown perseverance, determination, and exceptional performance following their comeback.
Eligibility: Players who have demonstrated resilience in the face of adversity by overcoming illness, physical injury or other circumstances that led them to miss playing time the previous season.
3. DROY - Defensive Rookie of the Year
This award is given to the best first-year defensive player. The winner has made a big impact on the field, showcasing great skills, effort, and potential throughout the season.
Eligibility: Any defensive Homegrown or E-Import player in his first season in the ELF, not older than 23 at the time of the Championship Game. (To be eligible in 2025, the Player must be born on-or-after September 8th, 2001)
4. OROY - Offensive Rookie of the Year
This award honors the best first-year offensive player. The winner has shown exceptional talent, performance, and promise, making significant contributions to the team's offense.
Eligibility: Any Homegrown or E-Import offensive player in his first season in the ELF, not older than 23 at the time of the Championship Game (To be eligible in 2025, the Player must be born on-or-after September 8th, 2001)
5. SPOTY - Special Teams Player of the Year
This award recognizes the best player on special teams. The recipient has excelled in roles like kicking, punting, or returning, making crucial plays that have helped the team win games.
Eligibility: All kickers, punters, and returners who has participated in the ongoing ELF Season are eligible to win this award.
6. DPOY - Defensive Player of the Year
This award is given to the best defensive player of the season. The winner has demonstrated outstanding performance, leadership, and consistency, making key plays to stop the opposing team.
Eligibility: Any defensive player who has participated in the ongoing ELF Season is eligible to win this award.
7. OPOY - Offensive Player of the Year
This award honors the best offensive player of the season. The recipient has shown remarkable skill, effort, and production, leading the team's offense with exceptional plays and consistency.
Eligibility: Any offensive player who has participated in the ongoing ELF Season is eligible to win this award.
8. OLOTY - Offensive Lineman of the Year
This award honors the best offensive lineman of the season, recognizing their strength, technique, consistency, and impact on the game. It is awarded to a player who has demonstrated outstanding blocking ability, leadership, and reliability in the offensive line.
Eligibility: Any offensive line player who has participated in the ongoing ELF Season is eligible to win this award.
9. ROY - Rookie of the Year
This award goes to the best overall first-year player. The winner has made a huge impact on both sides of the ball, showing great potential and becoming a key player for the team.
Eligibility: Any Homegrown or E-Import player in his first season in the ELF, not older than 23 at the time of the Championship Game (To be eligible in 2025, the Player must be born on-or-after September 8th, 2001)
10. HGOTY - Homegrown of the Year
This award recognizes the best local player who has grown up in the team's area. The recipient has shown exceptional talent, dedication, and pride in representing their home region.
Eligibility: Any Homegrown player is eligiable to win this award. A Homegrown Player is a player who has played his first organized American Football in the country of the ELF team for at least one full season and continues to play in the ELF.
11. COTY - Coach of the Year
This award is given to the best head coach of the season. The winner has led the team to great success, demonstrating excellent leadership, strategy, and ability to inspire players.
Eligibility: Any head coach who has participated in the ongoing ELF Season is eligible to win this award.
12. MVP - Most Valuable Player
This award honors the most valuable player of the season. The recipient has shown outstanding performance, leadership, and impact on the field, playing a crucial role in the team's success.
Eligibility: Any player who has participated in the ongoing ELF Season is eligible to win this award.
13. MOTY - Man of the Year
This award recognizes a player who has shown exceptional character, sportsmanship, and contribution both on and off the field. The winner is a role model, making a positive impact in the community and the sport.
Eligibility: Each team selects the player who has participated in the ongoing ELF Season and best represents these values. From these players, the "Man of the Year" is chosen.
