ELF goes Croatia - a very special game for Sea Devil Joshua Jacob

This season, the European League of Football brings American football to Croatia, a country known mainly for its passion for soccer and basketball. But now the ELF has decided to hold its first international game in Šibenik. The Hamburg Sea Devils and Madrid Bravos will face each other here on August 24th.

A special game for both teams. The game also has great importance for Sea Devils running back Joshua Jacob. The 29-year-old was born in Hamburg, but has family in Croatia. "It obviously means a lot to me and my family that they have the opportunity to share my enthusiasm for the first time," he explains.

"The sport is finally getting the attention it deserves"

Jacob is excited about the development of the league and the sport itself: "It's really cool to see how the league continues to grow and how we can help make American football better known in other countries. The sport is finally getting the attention it deserves, and the fanbase can also grow outside the States."

Despite the distance, traveling does not feel unfamiliar for the Hamburg Sea Devils team. "Not much is actually changing for us, we're used to adapting quickly and feel at home wherever our fans are," Jacob explains. For fans in Croatia, the upcoming game offers a rare opportunity to experience the action live.
